LOCAL JOBS AND LOCAL HOMES FOR LOCAL PEOPLE
Ko'olau Loa
Vocational College
Element III of Phase I
KLP will purchase an established and fully accredited educational facility and gear its curriculum to train Ko'olau Loa residents for the jobs created through this project; i.e., registered nurses, medical assistants, elderly care specialists, healthcare administration, business, real estate management, entrepreneurial skills, skilled trades, television and film technicians, script writers, dieticians, film production, film equipment operation, set design, pre- and post television and film production, landscape management, security, etc.

Once procured, the college will be redesigned to model after the University of Phoenix's distance education footprint; one that has turned a small Midwestern College into the world's largest university. This format will allow the college to grow far beyond the normal reaches of a traditional vocational college.

It is anticipated that once the conversion to the new model university is completed, the school will grow to be the single largest revenue producing element within the Ko'olau Loa Revitalization Project with annual income projections exceeding the $100 million level; portions of this income will be used to provide fully paid scholarships to Ko'olau Loa graduating high school seniors that will prepare them for employment within the Ko'olau Loa Region, thereby eliminating the brain drain that has effected the area for more than three decades, and ensuring that a high quality college education is available to all residents in this rural setting.

Education is the part of this humanitarian project that will truly enhance the future of the community. Only by improving educational opportunity can the Ko'olau Loa Region guarantee a better life, a more positive future, and a brighter tomorrow for its children.
