(KLP) was founded to provide a means
to revitalize one of the most beautiful
land areas in the world; the North Shore
of the island of O'ahu. It is our intention
to enhance the lifestyle within this
breathtakign region by developing
housing that local residents can afford
to purchase (affordable), improved
medical care, meaningful employment, and educational opportunity. KLP intends to create a development that honors the desires of local residents, that is environmentally friendly, and culturally sensitive.
KLP is a hui (group) of Hawaii businesspeople who believe that while full scale development of rural O'ahu is inevitable, the manner in which it is accomplished must carefully address the rich cultural heritage of the area and sustain the incredible beauty of the region.
This website outlines a strategy for the positive development of a small part of the North Shore of O'ahu, the region known as the Kahuku Ahuapua'a. This website will outline a humanitarian effort that will build a future for local residents full of hope, opportunity, and promise without destroying the wealth of historical charm, scenic beauty, local culture, or the "old Hawaii" environment that is so cherished. This plan provides for critically needed affordable (what local residents can purchase) housing, meaningful employment that provide career fields, improved primary, secondary, and collegiate educational facilities, scholarships, and enhanced medical care.
KLP proposes to build an environmentally friendly, planned community that will provide affordable housing, improved educational opportunity, as many as 2,400 new and meaningful jobs in several different environmentally friendly industries, enhanced healthcare, and a means for providing exceptional care for the area's aging population. These are vitally important enhancements to an area that has known far more than its share of hardship. The project will provide much needed programs that will improve the local residents ability to enhance their lives and ensure a stable economic future for their children.
The plan outlined on the pages of this website is about a development concept that has been compiled by talking with area residents, patiently learning about the needs and desires of the communities, and by appreciating the historical significance and unique culture that exists within the region. It's about giving families and opportunity to help themselves; it's not about charity, it's about creating opportunity to excel, opportunity to provide a better life and future for the family, and the promise of a meaningful future.
While it is a near universally accepted fact that the Ko'olau Loa communities will be developed, as the natural beauty, ideal climate conditions, and abundance of available land makes it inevitable. What Ko'olau Loa Partners, Inc. proposes through this plan is to cause that development to be accomplished with sensitivity, appreciation for the historical values of the region, without disturbing the tranquility and exceptional beauty of the aina, and without placing an increased burden on the current residents.
